The roles within Queensland of the Security officer are defined within the Security Providers Act of 1993, as amended.  The definitions and restrictions on a security officer are a State by State consideration, these are slowly aligning.

Security Officers, or guards, are individuals employed to patrol or guard another persons property, such as the static security officer at a bank or the mobile patrol officer.  They may be armed. 

Security Officers, or security guards, include cash in transit officers to move your valuables or money.  Our Armoured Car guards and small vehicle transports come under this division.  Security officers include monitoring security staff for remote alarm monitoring.  These may be covert or overt operations.

The division between a crowd controller and a security officer lies in the fact that a crowd controller deals with a public place and a security officer deals with another persons property.  These are separated from Bodyguards by the fact that bodyguards protect the person, security guards protect property.

For private functions and events we supply security staff.  They may be discreet protection, as well as a well dressed presence at the front entrance, checking the guest list.  They may use force, where necessary, to protect your property or person.

For the protection of the person rather than property we have available bodyguards.

Dog patrols officers are considered similar to armed security.  Our preference in dogs is a Rottweiler or German Shepherd with a Sch III and IPO background to their breeding.  We do not recommend these dogs to the general public, as they are strong willed, with high drives.  However, they are well suited to police and guard dog duties.
