The Private Group Pty Ltd Home - Security Division - Bodyguards - Travel Companions -

Our staff include ex-police, ex-military, former government specialists and agents, retired undercover operatives, international fraud investigations specialists and experienced field agents.

When assessing a file, the factors for evaluation include:

The profile of the subject person, family or company/group.
The location of the subject person/s or company/group.
The publicly available intelligence about the subject person/s or company/group.  For example is it a publicised visit with dates and times of appearance known, or a politicians meet and greet with a 'side serve' of protestors.
Any pre-existing, known or perceived threats.
The location.
The language.
The reliability of communications.
The security of communications.
The availability, and quality, of medical assistance on site, in country.
Access - single route, multiple routes, pedestrian traffic, carparks, vantage points, restricted area, by air, by sea.
Political climate.
Religious climate.
Public perceptions.
The history of the location - such as Central and South America or the Phillipines history re kidnaps and ransoms.
The disposition and reliability of local law enforcement or military.
The security of the location and availability of weapons, lawlessness (e.g. Afghanistan).  This includes anti-armour weapons and IEDs.
Restrictions placed on Bodyguards/security.
Local legislation.
The mode of transport - on foot, mounted, armoured (land, sea, air)
The length of exposure (some things you can get away with as a one off, before there is time for the opposition to react, but repeated exposure is a risk multiplier.)
The needs of the client - a discreet method of transport may reduce risk but is not acceptable to a high profile client who needs to be in the 'public eye'.
The difficulty level of the client, with regards changes and security considerations.
The truthfulness of the client - we are aware that some clients have an urge to 'talk down' the threat level to try and reduce the cost of protection.
The reason for use of bodyguards e.g. to meet the requirements of ransom insurance, to provide an image of importance and prestige or to meet a real, or perceived threat.
The experience level of the bodyguards, in this theatre.

Intelligence gathering,
Contingency planning,
Visible uniformed security, outer layer or
discreet plain clothes outer layer,
Random security measures to avoid patterns,
Diversions and decoys,
Electronic and physical surveillance,
Relief in place for staff,
A schedule permitting overlaps, and back-up, for staff at high demand times,
A secure command and control network,
Briefings and updates for all staff and client,
Chains of command known to staff and client,
Consider firearms or other force multipliers and defensive measures.  Are they neccesary to meet the level of threat disclosed, or expected.  If so should they be 'on call', concealed carry or used as a visible deterrant.

Control for bodyguards and security should remain with the companies on scene representative.  They are the paid professionals.
